SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a work[er] that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth." (II Tim 2:15)

Sunday school classes are offered at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings and convene for 1 hour. We offer classes that use the International Sunday School Lesson Curriculum as well as topical classes using various biblical curricula. All books are distributed to participants in class. Members may incur a cost for their study materials. A few highlights of the offerings are below. Scroll down to the bottom to download the current Sunday School Brochure.  Online registration is coming soon.  Until then, please fill out a registration form and give to your SS teacher.  Forms are also available at the front and rear of the church.

Christian Education Ministry

OUR INVITATION TO YOU

"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a worker that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." II Tim 2:15

Are you excited about studying God's word?  Do you have questions about the scriptures as you study them? Are you looking for a book study or a topical study?  At UBC you'll find various options to choose from.

Our Christian Education Ministry is biblical in its foundation, engaging in its presentation and holistic in its reach. We offer classes to anchor you in the Christian faith and to help you manage areas of your life such as family and finances.

There are two primary components of Christian education: Sunday School Classes and Bible Study Classes (during the week).

*   Courses are available for persons of all ages.
*   Curriculum varies by class.
*   Students have to pay for their books (in some classes).
*   Sunday School terms are in 3 month increments.
*   Bible study classes range from 6 - 13 sessions.

Christian Education FAQ

Do I have to be a UBC member to attend a class?
No. We realize that for various reasons people visit churches before they are ready to commit to being a member there. We also realize that you may not be able to attend Bible study classes at a time offered by your church. We welcome anyone who desires to learn the word of God to join our classes.

Is there a class for new Christians?
We recommend our New Disciples Adult Class which is 4 weeks long and taught on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. on a consistent basis. The Foundations of Christian Living class is a good secondary class to continue to learn about the basics of the faith.

Are classes open to everyone?
In most cases, yes. However,  sometimes a class has a limited capacity or is a closed class to foster greater community building or facilitate the teacher's particular style of instruction. The number limit will be listed on the course announcement.

Is there a cost to take a class?
Not to take the class, but you may have to purchase the study guide.  If there is a cost, it will be indicated in the class description. As a part of worship to God, an offering is taken in Bible Study classes.

What if I miss a class?
Come to as many classes as you can. You will get as much out of your bible class as you put in. Infrequent attendance will hamper you getting to know the other members in the class and following the instruction. However, some biblestudy is better than none.

If I didn't attend the last term can I start now?
Yes. We offer different courses (and some continuations) each term. Participants are free to switch classes per term or to come back after a period of being away.

I  miss Sunday School because I attend 9:30 service. What can I do?
We offer a class "Sunday School on Wednesdays" on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.  The curriculum is the same as the Traditional Adult class taught on Sundays at 9:30 am.

If I miss a week of the Sunday morning Traditional class can I attend on Wednesdays?
Yes. However you may want to contact the teacher to make sure the same lesson is being covered. The Wednesday class is often a week ahead/behind the Sunday class.

Additional Questions? Who do I contact if I have a question?
Contact a member of the Christian Education leadership. Click here for their names and contact information.
